Timber-Steel Vehicle Restraint Systems
Hill & Smith VRS is an official distributor of Rondino Roads Timber Guardrail highway barrier systems, tested in accordance with EN 1317-2 and fully CE-marked. With a corrugated steel beam at its core and clad in timber, the systems provide containment levels ranging from N2 to H2. Across the GRP, G2M, G4M and GH2 product families, we offer an extensive selection of working widths from W1 to W7.
The Rondino range complements the Hill & Smith Flexbeam VRS and provides an effective alternative where a more natural aesthetic is required to blend seamlessly with the surrounding environment. The systems are fully compatible with our P1, P2 and P4 terminal solutions, which can also be powder-coated to match the timber finish.
Manufactured using sustainably harvested Pinus Class 4 timber and fully treated to deliver a service life of up to 30 years, the systems combine long-term durability with robust performance. The corrugated steel beam is hot-dip galvanised to ISO 1461 to ensure additional corrosion protection.
The GRP product range can be configured with an optional handrail to enhance pedestrian safety. In addition, motorcycle protection can be integrated to further improve overall barrier performance
