The developers of the district needed top-quality, visually appealing building materials to give the new district the impressive appearance that was required.
When constructing the Business Bay Crossing Bridge, agents Mediterranean Building Materials (MBM) needed to acquire a 2,500-metre aluminium bridge parapet system tested in accordance with AASHTO 17th Edition & NCRHP350 TL4.
The parapet needed to look appealing, but most importantly it needed to protect all road users from falling from the bridge.
Having worked with Varley and Gulliver and its range of first-class, UK-manufactured products on many previous occasions, MBM knew exactly where to turn.
Varley and Gulliver now had the perfect system to meet both containment and aesthetic requirements on some of the most prestigious projects across the globe.
China Harbour Engineering Co. and CCC Highway Consultants issued tenders to agents, ATH-Chevron, detailing the requirements for the supply of 5700 metres of aluminium BACO250 bridge parapet, designed and tested in accordance with BS6779.
With Varley and Gulliver’s vast product portfolio of bridge parapets, with crash-testing to BS6779, EN1317 and NCRHP350, ATH-Chevron knew they could count on the company to provide a product that would meet the requirements of the project specification.
Archirodon Construction and High Point Rendall Engineers approached Mediterranean Building Materials (MBM) to design and supply pedestrian and vehicle parapets for the new prestigious structure. Located in an affluent and stylish area of the city, high-quality, aesthetically pleasing parapets with an outstanding safety rating were essential for this project.
With this in mind, MBM, who had specially selected Varley and Gulliver’s British-made bespoke, high quality products for infrastructure projects for decades across the Middle East, knew exactly where to turn.
