Full-Time (37.5 hours per week)

Salary Dependant on Experience

We are seeking a detail-oriented and commercially aware Estimator to join our highways team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for parapet systems across a range of highway infrastructure projects.

This role requires strong technical understanding of parapet design, installation methods, and relevant standards, as well as the ability to interpret drawings and specifications.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

• Review tender documentation, drawings, and specifications related to parapet systems.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for parapet supply and installation, including materials, labour, plant, and subcontractor elements.
• Work closely with the design and engineering teams to ensure technical compliance and value engineering.
• Identify risks, exclusions, and opportunities within tenders and communicate them clearly.
• Support bid submissions with pricing breakdowns, clarifications, and supporting documentation.
• Attend pre-tender and post-tender meetings as required.
• Collaborate with project managers and commercial teams to ensure smooth handover of successful bids.

Key Skills & Experience:

• Experience in estimating within the highways or civil engineering sector, ideally with a focus on parapet systems or similar safety infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of parapet types, installation methods, and relevant standards (e.g., EN 1317, BS 7818).
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency with ERP systems
• Excellent numerical, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
